JAPAN'S "SAITEI" MAN

TV series2025

Ippei wants voters to believe he's a family man. Actually living with a family is another matter. JAPAN'S “SAITEI” MAN follows a former TV worker who sees politics as his way back up. Moving in with his single-father brother-in-law and the kids should give him a convincing story to sell. Then the housework, childcare, and people he's using for appearances start to matter to him.

The campaign comes home

Shingo Katori plays Ippei Omori, with Jun Shison as Shosuke Obara, the single father sharing his home. Ippei starts out treating family life as something he can perform for an audience. The eleven-episode drama follows that pose as it gets tangled up with real responsibilities and local politics. You may also find it under Fuji TV's English title Japan's Number One Jerk Salaryman.
