Fermat Kitchen
TV series2025
Gaku Kitada has given up on becoming a mathematician. Then chef Kai Asakura offers him a way into a very different world: the kitchen. Gaku's way of thinking in numbers becomes part of how he cooks, and his new ambition puts him among people with talents of their own. This anime adapts Yugo Kobayashi's manga, with Kazuya Ichikawa directing at domerica. The interesting question isn't whether Gaku can still use math. It's whether he can turn that ability into something other people want to eat.

Math at the stove
The cooking and the character drama go together. Gaku is learning a craft, while Kai draws him into a competitive world he hadn't planned to enter. If you're looking for the animated version, this is the 2025 series. The same manga also became a live-action drama in 2023.
